The kitchen of a hotel must always guarantee <strong>maximum hygiene<\/strong> and, both in new constructions and in the case of renovations, it is important to choose materials completely <strong>free of polluting solvents<\/strong>, which are harmful to human health not only immediately but also in the future time perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Substrate_preparation_the_foundation_for_a_workmanlike_result\"><\/span><strong>Substrate preparation: the foundation for a workmanlike result<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An example of a workmanlike application is the renovation of the floor of a kitchen in a hotel in Cuba where the old and worn-out tiles, which were <strong>completely removed<\/strong>, were replaced with a cycle of <strong>solvent-free water-based epoxy resins<\/strong>, thus with <strong>minimal environmental impact<\/strong>. Winkler technology solutions were chosen by the designers, in this case <strong>Unibar resin\u2019s cycle<\/strong>, protective and <strong>anti-slip<\/strong>, which perfectly resist common solvents and oils, therefore truly ideal in a kitchen, where excellent <strong>resistance to trampling<\/strong> is also necessary. In addition to removing the tiled flooring, the first row of vertical tiles was also removed to allow for the best <strong>leveling of the substrate<\/strong> and shells using <strong>Unibar Formula<\/strong> epoxy resin as a primer, and <strong>Unibar Screed<\/strong> for the creation of the <strong>floor-wall shells<\/strong>. The same system is also ideal to remove <strong>potholes, cracks and unevenness<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_application_cycle_consolidation_levelling_and_finishing\"><\/span><strong>The application cycle: consolidation, levelling and finishing<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The next phase of the work was the <strong>consolidation<\/strong> of the flooring with the product <strong>Winfix Fixative<\/strong>, a <strong>two-component epoxy resin<\/strong>, also <strong>water-based<\/strong>, <strong>dust-proof<\/strong>, and <strong>reinforcing<\/strong>. <strong>Unibar T<\/strong> products were used to <strong>level the substrate<\/strong>, and <strong>Unibar F Colore<\/strong> was used as the <strong>finishing<\/strong>. <strong>Unibar T<\/strong>, a <strong>breathable two-component water-based epoxy formulation<\/strong>, was designed to create <strong>self-leveling<\/strong> and <strong>multilayer flooring<\/strong> on surfaces even subject to humidity without a vapor barrier. <strong>Unibar F Colore<\/strong> is a <strong>breathable, two-component, water-based epoxy finishing<\/strong> with a <strong>satin appearance<\/strong>.
