Shell Tixophalte
A permanently elastic bituminous adhesive and sealant with excellent adhesion.
Cold-applied and ready to use, it adheres to damp surfaces and even underwater.
It can be applied to concrete, wood, metal, brick, plaster, PVC, and most plastics (e.g., polyethylene).
It bonds all types of bituminous membranes to each other and to external perimeter walls. It also seals and repairs various roof drainage systems, channels, tanks (including those for drinking water), chimneys, and PVC pipes. Furthermore, it bonds all types of insulating panels to bitumen-polymer membranes, wood, and concrete.
Application
It can be applied with a manual or pressure gun or with a spatula.
Useful tips – surface preparation
The support must be healthy, clean, free of dust or grease. Application temperature: from +5°C to +30°C. At lower temperatures, pre-heating (e.g. in hot water) is recommended.
Consumptions
Total consumption: depending on the size of the joint or use.
